Tracy Dodson Joins Charlotte Regional Business Alliance as Chief Operating Officer
The Nexus team worked with the Alliance to place COO at the regional economic development organization
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 12, 2024) – Nexus Search Partners, a purpose-driven executive search and advisory firm, has successfully placed Tracy Dodson as chief operating officer and head of economic development for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (CLT Alliance). Dodson, currently Assistant City Manager and Economic Development Director for the City of Charlotte, will begin her new role in February 2025.
With over 20 years of experience in urban planning, economic development, and real estate, Dodson is known for driving public-private partnerships and regional growth. She holds a Master’s in Real Estate and Urban Development from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from UNC Charlotte.

Dodson led major initiatives during her tenure with the City of Charlotte, including Honeywell’s headquarters relocation and key negotiations with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets. Her previous roles at Lincoln Harris, Cushman & Wakefield, and Charlotte Center City Partners have further established her as a leader in economic and real estate development.

In her new role, Dodson will oversee economic development, research, marketing, communications, and investor relations, blending her public and private sector expertise to drive regional progress.
Nexus Search Partners is also leading the search for CLT Alliance’s permanent CEO, with a decision anticipated in early 2025.
